Where do you find your inspiration & creativity?

I found inspiration from experienced leaders who challenged me to be my best. My creativity derived from mentoring and sharing key learnings with others.

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop?

It is important to be a life-long learner. To ensure that I continue to grow and develop, I often read books, seek stretch roles, and connect with others to improve.

What are some emerging trends that have the potential to change our business?

Based on my eclectic understanding of the healthcare industry, emerging trends that have the potential to impact our business are service and commitment to the customer. Since the pandemic, there has been a shift in these areas. For any organization to grow, it is important to retain and acquire new customers, so focusing on their needs is essential.

What is something you wish someone told you earlier on in your career journey?

Something I wish someone told me earlier in my career journey is to network and connect with others across the entire organization. There is a proverb that says, “I am because we are, and we are because I am.” It’s impossible to accomplish anything without the help of others.

What are the qualities you look for in a future employee?

The qualities that I look for in future employees is work-ethic and integrity. It is important to hire someone with the right experience and skills to increase their odds of success, but work-ethic and integrity means that they will make the right choices and show up even when no one is watching.

What is the biggest lesson you learned through your professional journey

The biggest lesson learned through my professional journey is to maintain a positive outlook during organizational change. It has enabled me to adapt during times of uncertainty. Change is imperative for growth.

Who is your role model? Why?

My role model is a CEO of an unnamed organization. She leads by example and stresses that the best way to lead is by connecting with others and making employees feel that their individual contributions are valuable and appreciated.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Do the best you can with what you have.

What is one thing that not many people know about you?

Many people do not know that I am a certified yoga practitioner. Some of the benefits of yoga include:

· Reduced overall anxiety

· Improved concentration

· Self-Determination and Mindfulness

If you could spend one day in someone else’s shoes, who would it be and why?

If I could spend one day in someone else’s shoes, it would be Oprah Winfrey. I admire her resilience, ambition and hard work which led to her success as a female in the entertainment industry. She is philanthropic and used her resources to successfully reconnect families. Oprah has proven to be an inspiration for women and a self-less leader for many.
